maps and journeys research part 1

projection ideas
though i like the idea of projection i don't really feel that the idea i have in my head will involve anything to do with projection onto an item or structure apart from a wall in a gallery i feel if i go with the idea in my head i will be look more at a  instillation however i found a few projections that gave me ideas for new projects to try my hand at ,

artist who deals with instillations - bill balaskis

i chose bills work because when we where told about the instillations first thing i thought was of bills work because of just how its laid out and the meanings behind it which with my idea (no spoilers just yet) it seemed like a good place to start and go from there specifically the first piece below is where i got my idea using something in the for ground to enhance the background and vice versa is what i was looking at to try to create a double meaning  .

chris milk

firstly i saw this peice before seeing it in the power point which makes me happy that i know a little about this which is great

and i like this project however i feel this level of interativity would be difficult to learn in such a short space of time as well as my own fear of programming since computing as (ae expressions dont count because that has things like wobble)

however the personal conitations with this piece is fantastic the only thing i didt like about the piece is the bottom half of the people interacting when they lost their legs i felt the magic lessened a slight bit however i love this piece i would never be able to do this without collaborations so when i try to peruse something like this im counting on some of you guys i will do the wings and grab coffe you guys get it working.

adobe muse

so upon getting the adobe creative cloud i started laying with adobe muse just to get to grips with it so this is what i made, i followed a few tutorials on linda.com and tried to learn how to make a web page. i found that muse was a lot easier to use and still gave me options that made it feel like Photoshop however it was not the most powerful software unlike Dreamweaver which is much more powerful and i prefer the easy to use action however understanding more technical assets would most likely have to be imported from dream weaver

editing round upexample conceputal art 9/9/2015

these edits where not done all today

double exposures

ive never been very good at getting this to work so i decided to learn how to do a double exposure and finding out the first image needs to be a silhouette was the secret why id didn't work very well, therefore prior planing was all i needed to do take in mind and how the image would be overlayed with the second image.

league of legends

example conceptual art

this was meant to be more fun and tried to get the colours to match up from the actual game using conceptual art and in game resources to get similar colours to work, to get miss fortune (Paige)
out of London and back in to the summoners rift.

and me

test photos with lumix g6

firstly lumix g6 is no longr in production and purchased a display model from currys, story of that shall be told only in person. however everything about this camera is amazing.

as well as that a new computer as well as the complete adobe package so i went out and filmed a short video of my younger brother walking through the woods.

as well as editing in premier i took the film into speed grade and found it quite difficult to work with
however i then watched a few tutorials on youtube. the biggest problem is that i edited the colour and the colour scheme i had changed everything through out the film, therefore i need forward planing as some shots the colour looks nice and bright and other shots it just looks slightly too saturated, i feel i need more practice with speed grade even though premier has similar functions built into premier it felt nicer to work within another program. and upon shooting I used my mono pod and unfortunately a lot of the shots are just shaky and I'm not happy with them, however as this was a test I wasn't going to cry over a some bad shots especially with a thunderstorm on the horizon .

also i had problems with encoding and exporting the video which involved many renders. also speedgrade doesn't support fades. So i had to export to dpx before I could colour grade.

dismaland

so banksy decided to open a bemusement in west super mare

from dismaland website

"Why does the world need Dismaland? What inspired you to create it – and how did you find the site?
It’s an experiment in offering something less resolved than the average theme park. For some reason it’s been labelled as ‘twisted’ but I’ve never called it that. We just built a family attraction that acknowledges inequality and impending catastrophe. I would argue it’s theme parks which ignore these things that are the twisted ones."
i took my new camera the lumix g6 with to film and to take photos,

here is a few photos of the day

colour change from porcelain cream to green

and a video

on reflection i feel that the camera action was shaky in some shot of the film and would love to invest in some stabilization equipment that is not a not stuck to a fixed position like a steady cam because of the need for moment. i also really like the sound track and feel quite happy about the pace of editing to the beat of the sound track.
i feel some of the colour to remain true the colour that was experienced at the gallery however due to that i feel reflecting upon that the colour is just to orange, and i wish i could have filmed more of the paintings within the gallery
my favourite bit of dismaland was entering the place along with the cardboard cut-out security and the paintings within the gallery one of the artists that i really enjoyed was Jeff Gillette, below is one of his works
